U.S. makes final anti-dumping review of China's barium carbonate


On January 21, 2009, the United States International Trade Commission issued a notice to make an anti-dumping sunset review final ruling on barium carbonate softener originating in China. The six members of the U.S. International Trade Commission voted unanimously that if the anti-dumping measures against barium carbonate originating in China are canceled, it may cause damage to the domestic industry of the United States to continue or recur in the foreseeable period. Therefore, the anti-dumping measures continue to be implemented.

On October 25, 2002, the US Department of Commerce initiated an anti-dumping investigation on barium carbonate adhesive originating in China. The customs code of the product involved was 28366000. On August 6, 2003, the U.S. Department of Commerce made a final ruling on the case, and the dumping margin of the Chinese enterprises involved in the case was 34.44 to 81.30 percent. On September 2, 2008, the US Department of Commerce initiated an anti-dumping sunset review investigation into the case.
